GM paying back tһе Tarp? Hοw іѕ tһаt possible? Aחԁ wһу now? Itѕ a sham, аחԁ a scam. Aחԁ tһе American Taxpayer іѕ getting screwed. AƖƖ fοr Financial Regulatory Reform. -GM tο pay back US аחԁ Canadian loans way early www.freep.com -Grassley: GM Uses TARP Money Shuffle tο Pay Loans blogs.wsj.com

Thanks for being on top of this. I wondered too how GM could have possibly paid back the loans so quick. They aren’t exactly setting the car market on fire. I guess they’ll keep GM alive long enough to settle the pensions, then the taxpayer will absorb that cost and GM’s debt. Advocates of fascism must be thrilled with the progress.

@GuysCallMeShawna
No, its not surprising. The media has always been a tool of the power players in Washington, regardless of which party is in office. And the govt plays the media like a fiddle, and the media does the same to the people. Thanks for your great comments! And I noticed you’re watching Hyper Report, thats great.
@curtatlanta ahhh….the spin off scheme. interesting. yep, lehman tried to spin off their bad junk into “Spinco” (clever, eh?)…..but they just couldn’t get it together quickly enough before the crash in sept…..not to mention fuld had turned away investors that prior spring….then when he needed them later, they said no go. no go to spinco.
@debtruth1
Regarding “who’s next”. I was looking to see who bought GE’s Appliance Division. Back in 2008 Jeff Immelt had engaged Goldman to find a buyer, and then I never heard who bought it. Turns out, in 2009, he deided to keep it, they never sold it, they just did a “spin-off”. So maybe with the new Fannie Mae NINJA Cosumer Loans, the poor will be able to buy a GM car and a GE appliance, wont that be “wonderful”!
@torq21
LOL. Thanks. Thats a reproduction of Iron Man #1. And I got an X-men poster to go with it.
@curtatlanta GT&E was already absorbed by 2000, but that could have started it with this “G” thing that he built his acquisition model around LOL
In March 1970, blasts ripped through the headquarters buildings of GT&E and two other companies in New York, terrorists were suspected… Uh Huh Telcoms have been known to have violent histories (and I do not mean just financial violence)
Verizon took over GTE in 1999
Stop putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Its better that way. Keeping on our blinders of ignorant bliss.
BTW Nice Iron Man poster!
@curtatlanta I guess the idea of the government taking over our pensions and retirement funds has been leaked out there.
The unfunded UAW pensions for GM are up in the billions. Someone will have to pay for those. Our pension fund lost 12 bil and we took a 2/3 benefit cut last years for when we retire. There will be no bailout of our fund, we are not UAW.
@debtruth1
Thanks Deb. Who’s next? They seem to have a fetish for companies beginning with “G” as in Goldman and General Motors, so my guess is General Electric and the infamous, “tarp-heavy” GE Capital unit. LOL.
curt this is brilliant!!!!! great work!
i wonder what other convenient announcements will be coming out……
This isn’t surprising; ‘they’ manipulate the facts and always have. The Mainstream mass media won’t make a huge deal out of it and most stupid Americans like news to be positive and hopeful- delusion is much more comforting than reality.
@bertly71
I keep hearing about this pension crisis, I gotta bone up on that. I see where Argentina just seized pensions.
Good point about moving the bailout money from one account to the next. They want to shed the Government Motors moniker with these slick tricks.
i wondered where they got the money when they lost money in the last quarter, it makes sense now.
Just wait until the taxpayers start getting hit with those underfunded UAW pensions.
@CTOL1
LOL. Waterloo’d. Funny. Swedish lumber? You mean its cheaper to buy lumber half way around the world than it is here? Must be the environmentalists. AARP, yeah they’re tools of Obama, those bastards.
AARP is running an add on TV during evening news slot promoting the support for this regulatory reform bill, we are near ruin…. screwed blued and waterlooed (what ever that means)
Something IS rotten in Denmark.
Hey speaking of that area, I was in an Home Depot much of their lumber is from Sweden!!
Go figure
@curtatlanta concise and correct:)
@fal2grace
We are so screwed!
I saw where gm paid it back…timing’s everything isn’t it? thanks much curt.
